We released a couple of updates to Basis HR this month, one maintenance release and one feature release. A maintenance release is primarily focused on bug fixes and minor updates while a feature release typically focuses on one or more specific areas for updates or improvement.

Maintenance Release

Assessment Override

In the early stages of switching to a professional ladder system (and market-based pay), it may be necessary to override the results of the first official assessment. This may be due to budget constraints or as an overall sanity check with regard to assessed levels. In some cases, the override is used to establish a starting point (i.e. level 1 or 2) for new positions or assignments.

User Impersonation

Authorized users now have the ability to impersonate other users within the system. This is helpful for systems administrators or consultants who need to support clients through various talent management activities.

Multiple Supervisors

Basis HR already had the ability to assign an employee to multiple positions. This is rarely ideal, but occurs in real life, especially when a person is assigned an interim position. This improvement clearly displays all of the supervisors that oversee a position.

Other Improvements

  • Assessment Type in Search Results
  • Missing Subject Line from Password Reset Email
  • Ladder Grades Should Be Rounded
  • Add Assessment Comment for Experience
  • Report Page Not Redirecting for Anonymous User
  • Include Name in Breadcrumbs for Employee Detail

Feature Release

This release focuses on employee data.

Employee Profile

The employee profile page provides detail and self-management of employee information.

Employees Without Assessments

It is now possible to easily see those employees that do not yet have assessments. Even with a relatively small number of employees, this is really useful in tracking down and performing additional assessments as needed.

Other Improvements

  • Automatic Log In After Setting the Password
  • Integration Latest Version of Certain Backend Libraries
  • Password Reset Confirm Not Found

Conclusion

Next month? We're planning another maintenance release with several key enhancements in a number of areas. A few reported bug fixes will also be included.
